Back to teaching after an almost 2 week vacation. It was difficult getting up and out of the house today. I guess I have gotten used to staying up later and sleeping in.

Game night with Peanut on my last day of vacation. It is back to work for me tomorrow. I have enjoyed my time off, but I have missed my “kiddos”!

My attempt at a photography project was short lived last year. Life got in the way, and I became busy with family and activities. Photography was put on the back burner and not given a lot of thought. I am challenging myself to pick up my camera at least once a day. My main focus is to see improvement in the quality of my shots over the course of the year. Settings: ISO3200, f2.2, 1/13 Lens: 50mm f1.8
I didn’t have time to get out today. I’m busy making my lesson plans for the month of February. f5.6, ISO800, 1/8
A church in a nearby town. f10, ISO100, 1/640
This sign in an adjacent classroom caught my eye. f2.2, ISO3200, 1/250
A quick photo was needed, and I saw the poker chips sitting on the desk. Using my 50mm lens allows for a very shallow depth of field. f2.2, ISO3200, 1/50
I tried to get a different angle. I like the blurriness of the cymbals in the background. f2.2, ISO3200, 1/100
What does “Peanut” do when I have to work late at school? Watch a movie on the SMARTBoard, of course! Some days she will play a game, read, or draw. However, today she decided watching AirBud would be best. f7.1, ISO1600, 1/40
I braved the cold to capture this image. Straight out of camera…no editing. When I have more time, I will probably play with it in Photoshop. Though I am pretty happy with my results. f7.1, ISO100, 1/400
